Jacob Harper is an American filmmaker from Dallas, TX. Harper has been making films since enrolling at the University of North Texas in 2019, however he had spent a good portion of his childhood writing stories and watching movies. In 2020 Harper made his directorial debut with the short horror film Hunting Terror, which brought him on the film festival circuit. Harper followed his debut with his junior year class project Initiation Night, which continued bringing him to film festivals. In 2023 Jacob Harper graduated from the University of North Texas with a major in Media Arts and a minor in journalism. After obtaining his degree, Harper continued working on various film projects, including the upcoming dramatic-comedy short Congratulations, in which Harper co-wrote and co-directed with longtime collaborator Aiden Call. Harper has also built up a following through his work as a film critic, in which he has done a series of reviews, interviews and festival coverage across multiple different outlets.
