Biography

Kerry Hatch is the son of composer and Disney percussionist Earl Hatch and Disney percussionist Carol Hatch (née Culp). He is best known for his role as the original bass guitarist in the '80s new wave band Oingo Boingo, which he was part of from 1979 to 1984. Other musical projects include The Revelation (1967–1968) and Sylvester and the Hot Band (1972–1974). Hatch picked up the bass in college, as well as studying arranging and orchestration. He retired from professional bass playing in 1989 to open a restaurant (which was not a successful endeavor) and later started a landscaping business.
