Biography

Michael Nyman is an English composer of minimalist music, pianist, librettist and musicologist, known for numerous film scores (many written during his lengthy collaboration with the filmmaker Peter Greenaway) and his multi-platinum soundtrack album to Jane Campion's The Piano.
